Segue o resumo da contribuição:
O presente artigo objetivou, por meio de metodologia bibliográfica, discutir temas relativos à ciência, tecnologia e inovação por meio de aspectos comuns compartilhados entre as potências emergentes que configuram o atual quadro de membros dos BRICS (Brasil, Rússia, Índia, China e África do Sul), enfatizando quais agendas podem ser relevantes para todos os membros considerando suas similaridades (em especial a grande concentração de populações em situação de pobreza e vulnerabilidade socioeconômica; aspectos de economias exportadoras; o fato de serem países em desenvolvimento; preocupações com os sistemas públicos de saúde; dentre outros). Depreendeu-se, deste, que apesar das assimetrias existentes entre as potências analisadas, inclusive quanto à produção e registro de patentes, tais aspectos comuns também podem possibilitar maiores cooperações de acordo com suas necessidades e especializações.

The abstract of the contribution is as follows:
"This article aimed, through bibliographic methodology (review of existing literature on the theme), to introduce themes related to science, technology and innovation through common aspects shared among the emerging powers that configure the current BRICS membership (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), emphasizing which agendas may be relevant for all members considering their similarities (in particular the large concentration of populations in situations of poverty and socioeconomic vulnerability; aspects of exporting economies; the fact that developing countries; concerns about public health systems; among others). It emerged from this that despite the existing asymmetries between the analyzed powers, including regarding the production and registration of patents, such common aspects can also enable greater cooperation according to their needs and specializations."
